Hosting a Super Bowl Party

It’s almost here, the BIGGEST Sporting Day of the ENTIRE YEAR…. The Super Bowl! Competition is fierce on and off the pitch with neighbors and friends all asking the same question: who will throw the most epic Super Bowl Party this year?

Thank God for HOOCH because we, ladies and gents, have got you covered. From how to decorate your tiny af pad, to where to buy your liquor and food, to a shopping list and recipes to keep your crowd content!

Hosting the party is all about organization. When you’re hosting a party you want to be able to enjoy it. If you’re living in an apartment the likelihood is you don’t have a backyard to barbecue, so how do you create a great spread in a tiny kitchen. Save yourself the stress and buy as much as you can in advance, pre-made. Sssh! We won’t tell anyone if you don’t!

  1. Food:

Set your disposable plates at the beginning of the display and your cutlery and napkins at the end. To lay out the entire table as a football pitch, you will need two spice rack grills. Purchase disposable foil  containers and cardboard bin box with dividers or cereal boxes work just as well! Have the two spice racks on either side of the table with 6 bin boxes on either side of the grills and two foil containers in the center. You can print your team’s flag and paste them to the bin boxes.

The center of the field add guacamole. Place salsa and sour cream/cheese on either side of the guac. In the boxes surrounding the guac center-piece, add carrots, celery and broccoli. Have a variety of chips, the traditional triangular chips and regular chips for guac. In the gaps between the bin boxes stack sliced pizza. To fill the boxes add mini sausages, chicken wings, pigs in a blanket, chicken nuggets, fries, fresh cut meat rolled into cigars to save space, cubes of cheese, taquitos, potato tots, sliced peppers, mini burgers and chicken fingers. All of which can be purchased and prepared before everyone arrives.

Most people living in an apartment won’t have more than one place to lay out food so we have the answer! You can rent a table for $10 for your drink and desserts. Have the cups and ice at the beginning of the table, then your beers, liquors and mixers. Lay disposable plates at the end of the drink section to divide the table for the desserts. For dessert, have a platter of fresh fruit (which can be purchase in Whole Foods!) and a variety of cakes and you’re sorted!

2. Clean as you go

Spend the little extra $ buying disposable plates, cutlery and cups to save time washing, loading and unloading the dishwasher (if you’re lucky enough to have one!). Have these trash cans dotted strategically around the apartment so that your guests can conveniently drop it and pop it, with spare refuse sacks displayed so that your guests can take it upon themselves to change them should the fill up.

3. Don’t run out of booze!

Over estimate rather than under estimate. You can always keep them in the fridge until the next holiday. However, if you do run into that sticky situation there are apps to help with that! Our personal favorite is Minibar.

4. Scoreboard

Time to hedge your bets. Write your bets on a board and see who wins. We will give the winner HOOCH for $1 for the first month! Don’t forget to take a picture as proof and send it to [email protected]!

  • Which player will score the most points?
  • Which team will have the most interceptions?
  • How many total yards will be accumulated?
  • Will the singer of the national anthem perform live or lip sync?
  • What will be the final score?

If all of that doesn’t help, be sure to see our posts over the coming days with tips and tricks to make it all go smoothly.
